The video gaming industry has been in fast development over the last few years. New videogames are out every few months, or sooner. Sony is giving the gaming world a new gadget to think about, the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). This device has been in development for years, and has been in great anticipation for millions of gaming fans. The new gadget offers the best to the entertainment world. It can play movies and other media on Sony’s specially developed Universal Media Disc (UMD), which holds 1.8GB of data; that is a tremendous amount of data. The display on this gadget is a 4.3-inch 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD screen, which gives the player a feeling of being there in the game. The PSP also features a built in speaker and headphone jack. In addition, it features the all raised buttons of the original PlayStation along with the patented ‘Start’ and ‘Select’ buttons.

This gadget has been released in various parts of the world since late 2004 and has been making great hit. BBC News reports, “It beats the iPod into second place in the Top Ten Essentials list which predicts what gadget-lovers are likely to covet this year.” The gadgets portability and many features makes it attractive to the people who prefer to have one gadget instead of three, and it’s sleek design and attractive color ensures that it goes with anything you are wearing.

With its already amazing reviews, it will be an interesting to see how Sony’s new PlayStation Portable fares in the United States. On sale late March, the PSP is sure to dazzle the minds of gamers of all ages. With its multitude of features, Apple might finally have some competition to deal with after a very long time. Oh, by the way, the price range is between $300.00 and $400.00, but you will also have to consider, it replaces a CD player, a game console, and a portable DVD player.
