On October 29th, Chumz presented the "Next Step: Your Dream School?" Panel Discussion, the first of a new monthly event series launched this year! Chumz monthly conferences are open to ALL high school students in the New York City area and are available to every teenager who wants to ask questions in an open environment.
Our distinguished panel gave very insightful perspectives on the topic of comparing community colleges with Ivy League colleges. The panel consisted of Cabin Kim, Entrepreneur and Business Professor at King's College; Audrey Kim, Associate Director of the PHD program at Stern School of Business in New York University; Dr. Ugonna Iroku, Clinical Physician and Researcher at John Hopkins University, and Karen Lau, Outreach Specialist at CUNY Baruch Zicklin School of Business. Each panelist shared their life stories and poignant memories of having to make decisions as high school students. Their diverse and rich stories answered many questions ranging from parental pressure, to finding the right opportunities for their unique backgrounds and talents, to applying to Ivy League colleges.
Jessica Grant, a senior at Cathedral High School who attended with three of her classmates, said "Our first meeting was very inspirational, and I intend to help other friends see the possibilities in their future that I finally saw through the Chumz Corporation."
